I've bloated the 480p videos to 1080p where it's all blurry, and i'm trying to sharpen it. You've got to understand what it is I'm doing in this thread's screencaps. i didn't look at the level sets for reference while doing the settings, I just in my mind remember the level sets have crushed blacks, are slightly dull in colour compared to other DBZ releases etc etc With my filter scripting, I've found I can do a lot more than that and so I've expanded my colouring horizons to fit my own taste And the colours on this thread's screencaps, I did them while thinking of the level sets. ![]() That video you keep showing me.it's got CC I achieved several years ago with my video player's colour settings lol (it's got RGB levels control). that was my last thread where I showed my colour changing can breathe about 20 years of life into DBZ: M8, the main point here isn't colour correction. Some extra leveling and competent DNR is certainly down to personal taste, but those colours match the appropriate references. That's about as close to perfect as you'll get. Nothing is even remotely close to resembling the intended pallet, nor does it look aesthetically pleasing on its own. Outside of the obviously god-awful DNR, the colours are far too muted and dark, and the line-darkening you've done looks very bad. Enigmo-level) colour CORRECTING: Īm I allowed to upload a small 55-sec sample video clip to a file-sharing site and post the link? Or is any kind of file-sharing not allowed?Ījay wrote:It looks pretty terrible, honestly. picture:0įiltering and everything is great and all until you get to those far-distance shots, but I think mine isn't as bad as FUNi's blurays. Upscale + CC + filtering + DNR + more filtering lol: ![]() let me know what you think of this stuff in general, and then what you think of what i've managed to achieve up to now. lol here are some examples of what I've been doing. Nevertheless, tell me guys what you think and just to.show off. I honestly don't know why though.unless I somehow magically gain the editing and distributing rights for DBZ, my time is being wasted. But do you guys ever feel pleased with what some fans do in their vids? I, myself, do it lol I've been doing it for a few years now, always thinking of new filtering strategies to upscale the Dragon Boxes and make them look like the ideal 1080p version of DBZ. In my opinion FUNimation's Bluray season sets didn't look too different from them. They're all over youtube, i'm sure most of you guys have seen fan attempts to improve the video quality of DBZ. So yeah, obviously not remasters, but what do you think of fan attempts at HD-ing the original DBZ series? Something like this must have been discussed by you guys already but i'm not around here much and wanted to see what you thought. People are still welcome to post their/others' stuff.) ![]() But, from very early on it was a thread about my stuff. (Previously titled: "What do you guys think of fan "remasters"?". ![]()
